Brodgar leads a Hen Party
Eleven llamas and twenty hens. The greater the number, the harder it is to line us up for a photo. Are all llamas facing the right way? Have we made sure our hen knows where the camera is? Has Loupin Stanes trodden on her hen’s foot? Well, if we’re ready, it’s time for me to walk to the front and hog as much of the lens as possible. My profile is so handsome I lighten any picture. Of course, others (Moai and Hazelton) also try to show off for the camera, but, really, I am the star.
Yesterday, I led the hens down the hill from Old King Street Farm and it stayed dry for us. I think I detected a few sore heads in the group (which was why this was an afternoon trek), but that didn’t stop the thirstiest of the hens who took a detour to the local hostelry in Ewyas Harold. Other two-legs were in the pub garden and we posed for photos as we passed by.
Up on the Common it was as lovely as ever and this was where I tried to line everyone up. It wasn’t all that sunny, but lots of the hens were wearing sunglasses.
We all had a lovely time. A healthy walk blowing away the cobwebs and recommended for everyone who loves the outdoors.
And then back home for tasty treats. Hurrah!
