Stenness goes to Church

Well, that was a surprise.

Today, my good ol’ bro Brodgar and I pretended to be donkeys.  There was a request from my new best mate Penny (there on the right) who asked if we could take part in the Palm Sunday procession.  This was great fun.  Lots and lots of two-legs met in the village and we processed along roads to our Church.

The two-legs carried plants and everyone sang special songs to Brod and me.  Here’s one of them:

(To the tune of ‘The wheels on the bus’)

‘The people in the crowd will wave their palms,

Wave their palms, wave their palms.

The people in the crowd will wave their palms

All through the lanes’

And another:

(To the tune of ‘What shall we do with a drunken sailor?’)

‘We have a King who rides a llama

We have a King who rides a llama

We have a King who rides a llama

And his name is Jesus’

Actually, nobody rode on us which was good.  We arrived at Church and everyone went in.  Brod and I popped in too, but we thought it better if we took our people home, so off we trekked in the glorious April sunshine.

More news from Golden Valley Llamas soon
